Are Asos starting to push own branded product in favour of Brands Like Miss Sixty

Is this something that only we have noticed recently, or is this something else other people have also noticed. Now don’t get me wrong Asos.com has an amazing business model and all respect to what they have done, but with the type of money they are turning over it’s something they can easily afford to do. What I think may be worrying a lot of fashion brands at present though is the fact they seem to be pushing their own branded labels very heavily, who can blame them there’s more margin in this for them, more leeway with what kind of collection they are able to build for the season and more scope in terms of buying in extra of a good selling style. This has had a knock on effect on many brands though with Asos.com dropping their budgets for the S/S 11 buying season by up to half with some brands and I don’t know if anyone else has noticed that Firetrap females brand is absent for this A/W 10 season on their store and just how many more brands are going to be facing the axe for the A/W 11 season and what kind of effect is this going to have in terms of some of the brands survival. Lets take Miss Sixty for instance who at one stage were a huge player with Asos.com, but even their collections seemed to have dropped from previous years. Miss Sixty wasn’t long back in financial difficulties and with Asos.com commanding such a huge position within the fashion world now they are either going to make or break a business. We have heard of the super markets pushing for more margins and in effect pushing a business to breaking point. Is this huge fashion machine now going to do the same?
