John Galliano has been found guilty of racism and anti-Semitism. He has been sentenced to pay a hefty fine of £15,345. Although that is below the maximum penalty for insulting someone based on their race or ethnicity in France, which is is £19,085.
Galliano was sacked from Dior and his own label as a result of an alleged assault and making anti-semitic comments in bar to a couple in Paris. His trial lasted a day in June, there he admitted admitted to drinking Champagne and taking valium pills “like they were candy”.
